What does a dumbbell chart show?
A dumbbell chart draws two dots per item joined by a bar, so the gap between them is the shape you read. Use it for our price against a rival's, plan against actual, or before against after for many items.
Chartory ships it as a Figma component and a React component with the same name. The code installs from the shadcn registry with one command and lands in your project as a file you own.
What is the Dumbbell component?
It is one <Dumbbell> component. Its props are the Figma properties with the same names and values, and the props table above lists them. The data is two values per item.
Sizes XS, S, M and L re-lay the chart out from the data instead of scaling it, so labels stay readable at every size.
When should I use it?
- Are there two values per item? Yes means the dumbbell fits.
- Is it two things compared, not a change? Yes means the dumbbell fits.
- Is it a list of items? Yes means the dumbbell fits.
When does another type fit better?
- One value per item. Use Lollipop instead.
- Before and after over time. Use Slope chart instead.
- Areas with fixed and broken cases. Use Case strip dumbbell instead.
