We keep as little as we can.
What we collect, why, and how to remove it.
In short
- We keep what your account and purchases need: your name, email, how you sign in and what you bought.
- Payments go through Polar, our merchant of record; we never see your card.
- We never sell or share your data for ads.
- Ask and we delete it.

Who is responsible
BEY AGENCY LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 16435596), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, runs usechartory.com and is the controller of the data described here.
What we collect
Your email when you join the list. For an account: your name, email, a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself), the GitHub or Google account you sign in with and your GitHub handle, and the company or VAT line you add for receipts. For a purchase, Polar tells us your email, the plan and the order. If you write to us, we keep the message so we can answer it. If you say yes in the cookie banner, the site counts page views with Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookies. When you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in. A small cookie remembers your chart collection, and your browser keeps your theme, your cookie choice and a closed announcement. Our host keeps short request logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site safe.
Signing in with GitHub or Google
If you choose GitHub or Google, they send us your name, email address and profile picture, and GitHub also your username. We ask for nothing else: no access to your repositories, contacts, files or other Google data. We use these details only to sign you in, show who you are signed in as and, for GitHub, invite you to a template repository you bought. We do not sell them, use them for ads or share them beyond the services listed below. Chartory's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect either account in Settings at any time.
What we use it for
To run your account, deliver the files, your registry token, receipts and the updates of your plan, and send the release notes you asked for. The legal bases: the contract with you (account, purchases, updates), your consent (the list and release notes) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe (rate limits and bot checks). Nothing else.
Who else sees it
Each sees only what it needs for its job: Polar (payment, tax and receipts), Vercel (hosting and page counts), Neon (the account database), Resend (email), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot checks), Sentry (error reports: the page or request that failed and the error, with no name, email, cookies or form data), and GitHub or Google if you sign in with them. Some of them are in the United States; transfers rely on the UK's and the EU's standard safeguards.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as the account exists. Purchase records for as long as tax law asks (Polar keeps the receipts). List emails until you unsubscribe. Messages for up to two years.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any email with one click, change your details or delete your account in Settings, or write to hello@usechartory.com to see, correct, move or delete what we hold. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority where you live.
