What does a bar chart show?
A bar chart gives each item or period one bar from zero, so the tallest and shortest stand out at once. It is the safest way to compare amounts. Use it for monthly totals, counts per category and any values people want to rank by eye.
Chartory ships it as a Figma component and a React component with the same name. The code installs from the shadcn registry with one command and lands in your project as a file you own.
What is the Bars component?
It is one <Bars> component. Its props are the Figma properties with the same names and values, and the props table above lists them. The data is one value per item or period.
Sizes XS, S, M and L re-lay the chart out from the data instead of scaling it, so labels stay readable at every size.
When should I use it?
- Is each bar its own amount? Yes means the bars fit.
- Is there one series? Yes means the bars fit.
- Are the labels short? Yes means the bars fit.
When does another type fit better?
- The parts make up one whole. Use Stacked bars instead.
- Several series per period. Use Grouped bars instead.
- Long names need room. Use Horizontal bars instead.
