npx shadcn add @chartory/block-timeline - 3
Use it
Pass your rows. The props are the Figma properties.
usage.tsximport { BlockTimeline } from "@/components/chartory/block-timeline"<BlockTimeline data={squadItems} size="m" legend/>
Props
<BlockTimeline>
Every prop but data is a Figma property with the same name and values.
BlockTimelineData
The data prop: one object for the whole chart.
BlockTimelineCol
One object per entry in cols.
The data as a JSON Schema: schemas/block-timeline.json
Block timeline: a React and Figma chart in four sizes
What does a block timeline show?
A block timeline gives each team a column of blocks, one per item, with its status and days left. Blocked items stand out without dates on every block. Use it for roadmaps, squad plans and release tracking.
Chartory ships it as a Figma component and a React component with the same name. The code installs from the shadcn registry with one command and lands in your project as a file you own.
What is the Block timeline component?
It is one <BlockTimeline> component. Its props are the Figma properties with the same names and values, and the props table above lists them. The data is items with a team, a status and days left.
Sizes XS, S, M and L re-lay the chart out from the data instead of scaling it, so labels stay readable at every size.
When should I use it?
- Is status more important than dates? Yes means the block timeline fits.
- Are there several teams? Yes means the block timeline fits.
- Is it items, not ownership health? Yes means the block timeline fits.
When does another type fit better?
- Exact times per job. Use Gantt instead.
- One release tree. Use Tree instead.
- Owners and health per item. Use Ownership matrix instead.
