One command adds the Treemap component to your project.
npx shadcn add @chartory/treemap - 3
Use it
Pass your rows. The props are the Figma properties.
usage.tsximport { Treemap } from "@/components/chartory/treemap"<Treemap data={salesBySubcategory} size="m" legend/>
Props
<Treemap>
Every prop but data is a Figma property with the same name and values.
TreemapData
The data prop: one object for the whole chart.
TreemapGroup
One object per entry in groups.
The data as a JSON Schema: schemas/treemap.json
Treemap: a React and Figma chart in four sizes
What does a treemap show?
A treemap fills a rectangle with tiles sized by value and grouped by category, so the big sellers and the long tail show in one view. Use it for sales by category and subcategory, spend by team or storage by folder.
Chartory ships it as a Figma component and a React component with the same name. The code installs from the shadcn registry with one command and lands in your project as a file you own.
What is the Treemap component?
It is one <Treemap> component. Its props are the Figma properties with the same names and values, and the props table above lists them. The data is parts with a value, grouped in categories.
Sizes XS, S, M and L re-lay the chart out from the data instead of scaling it, so labels stay readable at every size.
When should I use it?
- Are there many parts? Yes means the treemap fits.
- Are they grouped? Yes means the treemap fits.
- Is it one moment? Yes means the treemap fits.
When does another type fit better?
- A few parts. Use Donut instead.
- Two levels as rings. Use Sunburst instead.
- Region and category together. Use Marimekko instead.
