Parallel coordinates

Many items across many measures.

Definition · Updated Nov 2, 2026

When to use

Trade-offs across measures.

Three signs it fits, and three signs another type fits better.

Are there many measures?

Two measures per item.

Yes: Keep the parallel coordinates

Are there several items?

Two items by shape.

Yes: Keep the parallel coordinates

Are there more than three measures?

Exactly three that sum up.

Yes: Keep the parallel coordinates
